Uncle's Rabbit Adventures, Las Aventuras De Tio Conejo, by Eulenspiegel Puppets...

Good afternoon Mid-Prairie East families!

Next Monday (October 23rd) MP-East will be hosting a performance of Uncle's Rabbit Adventures, Las Aventuras De Tio Conejo, by Eulenspiegel Puppets, a bilingual Spanish/ English puppet show featuring Mexican guest Artist Puppeteer Eli Portugal. The show will feature live music and songs and will be followed by 3 hour long workshops for 2nd grade students who will have the opportunity to create their own puppet and stage, and will put on a performance for the younger grades. 

Eulenspiegel Puppets are a non profit puppet theater based in West Liberty , Iowa. They perform their shows in communities locally, nationally and internationally.They specialize in historical, bilingual, local and diverse folktale programming, ranging from children to adult audiences as well as workshops and cultural community events.

I have been looking for a long time for a ludic multicultural experience to bring to our school to enrich our Spanish program and feel very fortunate to be able to host a Eulenspiegel Puppets performance at our school featuring Eli Portugal from Mexico.

This past week, your children and I discussed what it meant to be a good audience during the show. Please ask them to tell you what they remember about being a good audience.
