What a delicious introduction to our
Learning Kitchen by making DIRT CUPS!! Students worked together to read our
Dirt Cup recipe (which will be in today's Friday Folder) to make this yummy
recipe as an afternoon snack.
We used our Learning Kitchen which was
purchased six years ago to assist with cooking projects in the classroom. The
students did an excellent job taking turns, pouring, opening, crushing cookies,
holding, stirring, using the microwave, etc. so everyone could learn how to
prepare this tasty recipe.
Each month we will be reinforcing our
handwriting by writing a special recipe that we will be making together in
class! If we can't read our own handwriting or make spelling or capitalization
errors in our writing, it could have an impact on the end result of our
recipe...so we'll continue to promote neat handwriting and benefit from
following the recipe with yummy monthly class snacks!!! In addition, we'll work on our measurement skills, reading abilities, following directions, sequential order and so much more to expand our learning with our Learning Kitchen each month!
